Manhattan Botox treatments are currently the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the US. Botox injections can soften frown lines in the forehead, and smile lines around the eyes. More recently, Botox has also been approved for treating excess sweating in the under arm area. Botox works by temporarily blocking conduction of nerve impulses that cause muscle contracture and sweat release. In doing so, Botox can improve facial aesthetics by erasing the lines or wrinkles that form in the face due to muscle contracture.
Dr. Khosh is uniquely competent to administer Manhattan Botox injections into the face because of his training and qualifications as a board certified in New York City and California, as well as, a board certified head and neck surgeon. An in depth knowledge of facial anatomy and muscle physiology allows Dr. Khosh to administer Botox injections with precision, thereby maximizing effects and minimizing any risk. The procedure is performed as a part of a routine office consultation, and typically lasts 10 minutes. Patients may apply makeup immediately after the treatment, and return to work or other daily activities. Results usually last four months.
Botox represents a marvelous choice in non-surgical facial rejuvenation in Manhattan. The cosmetic benefits of Botox though, are limited to the brow and lateral orbital (eye) region. Excess sweating can now be effectively treated with Botox. On the molecular level, Botox blocks uptake of the neurotransmitter, acetylcholine, which stimulates the sweat glands to secrete. Botox treatment will temporarily obviate the need for antiperspirant use. Botox acts very locally, and sweat glands in other parts of the body are not affected.
